Mentoring for men who are done arguing with their worst hour.

One man, one mentor, and the two things my books for men are about: the voice in your own head, and the hard feedback from people who expect more of you. Plain talk. No pep talk.

What we work on

Two books, two kinds of work. We use whichever one is in the way right now.

The voice that still wins at one in the morning

From The Council of Betters. You pick a few better voices, give each one a vote, and stop letting your worst hour name you. We do that work together, one week at a time.

The room you walked out of

From The Bully I Needed. For the man who left the room mad because a leader wouldn't take his first draft. We sort out whether that leader is a builder who pushes you or a tyrant who needs you small, and what you do in the hour after you storm out.

One session

$150

Sixty minutes by video, phone, or in person near my home base in southwest Missouri. Bring one problem. You leave with one or two next steps, and I send them to you in a short email afterward.

Three-month mentorship

$1,200

Six sessions over three months, every other week, 60 minutes each. Short check-ins by text or email in between, answered on weekdays. We start with what's going on and what you want different. We finish with a written plan you can keep using without me.

Group mentoring is being planned. Ask to be told when it opens.

Card checkout is coming. For now, send a request and I'll reply with dates and next steps. Just have one question? You can ask it on Minnect.

Ryan L. Rinehart

Who I am

I'm Ryan L. Rinehart, a Navy veteran with an M.Ed. I own a small business in southwest Missouri and wrote The Council of Betters and The Bully I Needed. I also wrote the safety books on the Books page. I mentor the way I write: plain, direct, and on your side.

What this is not

Mentoring is not counseling or therapy. I'm not a licensed therapist or counselor, and I don't diagnose or treat anything. If you're working with a counselor, mentoring can sit alongside it. It doesn't replace it.

I keep what you share private, unless someone's safety is at risk.

If you're in crisis or thinking about hurting yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). Veterans, press 1.

Start with a message

Tell me which option you're looking at and a line or two about what's going on. I read every request myself and reply within two business days. You don't have to put anything in writing you'd rather say out loud.

Keep your people whole.
